World capital test game

Instead of thinking to add a u, I thought I mist have messed up the order of "gerl" so Ngrelmud, Nreglmud, and quite a few others.. I decided from now on I will remember it by thinking of "dumb lure" which is nearly what the first part is backwards, if if wasnt for the "silent b" in dumb.

I love jetpunk! And with five minutes to spare. I've been at it for like a month, whenever I've had 15 minutes to spare, usually between times per day. Never thought I'd know all the capitals of the world, although I know nothing about most of them aside from their name.

I'm pretty sure I know some of these just based on the order of this list. I need to retest my knowledge on an empty map now. I worked on this for roughly about 3 days and for 1 hour a day. Africa was the hardest in my opinion, I took so much time on it. I feel relieved. But you know you can just type in "Kotte", right? Oceania was very difficult to learn, and the stans are really easy to get confused with each other.

Ez Pz. Changed in late Or confused with a different country? I dont know, El salvador? Long shot I know.. It is not like it is near any other continent, so curious about your thought proces. Thanks anyway! The president of Burundi in promised they would move their government there. Could you also accept Colombo as a capital for Sri Lanka? It is now Sri Kotte Jayawardenapura.

I am getting there : Not actively learning them, but subconscious absorption through other quizzes. Which helps remembering them in the long run instead of actively learning them, then they are fast in, but just as fast out again with a few sticking. Though the downside with that is I think most of the ones I didnt get fall in that category, I think there are atleast 10 more that I missed that I should ve gotten or atleast look familiar enough.

I think about 30 you hardly see on any quiz. But Colombo doesn't work here. Pls try that one, too. You need to fill yellow boxes. I'll keep going : also congratulations to everyone who made it! I had no idea about the Oceana countries. But it makes me laugh. I was stuck on that and when I googled it to make sure it says Monte Carlo is the capital. Don't only look at that big fat heading.

And they have to spelt correctly i found. I messed up many times just from 1 letter mixed with the other lol. Are you kidding me? This must be one of the hardest quizzes on Jetpunk and most people probably aren't getting more than 70 or so.

What do I have to do to get a 5? Get all of them right? Sri J I understand it's making spelling easier, and I agree that acronyms like DRC or CAR are good, but if it's just a shortened part of the word you could keep typing without noticing.

This happened to me as I was typing Ouagadougou and it just accepted 'Ouaga. Some of these are annoying because the answer is accepted but there's still more to type, which leaves the correct letters in the next answer. A couple of the shortenings I don't like because I'm drilling myself to keep my knowledge current and I actually want to know the full name of the capitals of St.

Vincent and the Grenadines, Sri Lanka and Brunei. But not everyone uses the quiz this way, and lots of people are frustrated with knowing roughly "Ouagadougou" but not how to spell it. What I'd love is a feature where I can choose for a given quiz, a given take, or maybe for my user whether to accept loose spellings and especially shortenings or whether to keep it strict. The accepting of close misspellings doesn't bother me, but the truncation does.

How will you not know that Sana is actually Sana'a? It's the same situation in Sri Lanka as it is in South Africa:. Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte is its legislative capital, and Colombo is its largest city and financial centre.

That's Sri Lankas constitution, even though Kotte is in Colombos urban area, those are two different cities still. Their constitution defines Kotte as the capital. South Africa have officialy divided their 3 branches of power in three different cities that aren't even near onw another. Two totally different situations. World Capital Names with Double Letters.

That's it, I'm done. If you get Paris right the first time, but miss it the second time, it will show your percentage for Paris at Create Account.

Also, the time limit on this is a little sketchy considering that I was barely started on Africa before the quiz ended. I mean you would have to be pretty slow and spend quite some time remembering them. I had trouble with oceania but I had 9 mins to guess them. Frustrating, Panifex Aden is the current official capital of Yemen. Both Sanaa and Aden are currently capitals of Yemen, but considering Sanaa is currently not in control of the Yemeni government Aden is both the de facto and the de jure capital.

Do we need to write the entire names now?!? So it would seem. Bandar and Kotte work again as well as Riyad is no longer accepted, but Vientian is still accepted :. I got all except Brunei and Sri Lanka. Memorized all of these during my senior year of high school. I had the same problem today on Internet Explorer.
